Just recently found this website and decided to join even though I don't have a teardrop yet. My wife (Maria) and I have been thinking about building a teardrop trailer since 2013 (this is when I first started drawing designs up in sketchup) but never got around to building it till spring of 2018. I like the retro look of the old teardrops so I designed it to look like something out of the 40s or 50s. I'm still in the process of building the teardrop because I wanted to make it out of fiberglass. I built teardrop plugs to pull molds from (one piece body cabin mold, two fender molds and a trunk mold) and have the parts layed-up with 1" balsa core material. I have the trailer built to set it on and most of the parts purchased. I have some cabinets to build and some wiring and plumbing to finish and hopefully by this summer it will be ready to use. Anyway I am looking forward to meeting some of you in the near future.
